Summary

Ridley Scott's sci-fi horror classic stars Sigourney Weaver as Ripley, a tough-as-nails warrant officer who stares down one of the most terrifying movie monsters of all time: a bloodthirsty alien that stalks and eviscerates its prey. As the deadly creature winds its way through the air shafts of the spacecraft Nostramo, the crew members consider deploying the ship's escape shuttle … but there's only room for four people.

Another Alien movie from Ripley Scott

The director of Alien, Ridley Scott, will make another Alien movie, according to MTV interview at April this year (2010).

He says he´s going to make a movie that happends around 30 years before the first Alien movie. He hasn´t speak about any actors, but Ripley wasn´t born then, so I guess we can count Sigourney Weaver out.

He told MTV: "As we speak, I've got a pile of pages next to me; it's like the fourth draft. It's a work in progress, but we're not dreaming it up anymore. We know what the story is. We're now actually trying to improve the three acts and make the characters better, build it up to something [we can shoot]. It's a work in progress, but we're actually making the film. There is no question about it, we are going to make the film."

He also said: "It is fundamentally about going out to find out 'Who the hell was that Space Jockey?' The guy who was sitting in the chair in the alien vehicle — there was a giant fellow sitting in a seat on what looked to be either a piece of technology or an astronomer's chair. Remember that? ... And our man [Tom Skerritt as Captain Dallas] climbs up and says: "There´s been an explosion in his chest from the inside out — what was that?" I am basically explaining who that Space Jockey — we call him the Space Jockey — I am explaining who the space jockeys were.

What Alien fan doesn´t remember this Space Jockey? You can see a picture of him down below this text module if you don´t know what he´s talking about. We can finally get the explanation: What it was and what the hell it was doing in this spaceship.

Ripley Scott hopes to finish the movie in late 2011 or in 2012.

I don´t know about you, but I can´t wait :)

My experience of Alien

I saw this movie for the first time when I was 15 years old. My friends brother handed me the Alien collection, and I got fascinated. I have always been so called sci-fi nerd, but the Alien series are the top of the iceberg, that´s for sure.

The horror and the tension is exemplary in every way. The script is almost perfect - the conversations and how the stress arise between the crew members trough the movie. The Alien monster is, I would say, the most successful Alien horror creature that I have seen.

And look at the relese date, it´s 1979, not 20xx. So... acording to my calculation.. it´s more then 30 years since the movie was made (I wasn´t even born. I wasn´t even in a thought!:) ). But still, it´s so great. You have to be a genius to make it work. Ripley Scott proved that by making Alien. Otherwise, I wouldn´t be writing about it.

You can read some stuff about the movie here down below... f.ex. about the plot, main information (cast, who made the script and so on), taglines and at last you can read about an interview with Ripley Scott where he says he´s gonna make another Alien movie (he´s not talking about AvP crap, he´s talking about real Alien movie).

And then you can see some trailers, scenes from the movie and twelve deleted scenes.

Then you can also buy the movie... or the whole set.

Enjoy.

Plot

SOS signal is sent from a distant planet. The crew memebers of the mining ship Nostromo are waken up from the hypersleep, when it captures the signal. They land on the planet for investigation and find out that the signal is sent from a spaceship, as a warning signal - not a SOS. Inside the alien spaceship is a hive colony of an unknown creature. The curious crew members will not know what kind of danger they are upon until it´s too late.

Pesinn Even though the first Alien movie is from 1979, it´s the most scary one. The script is a goldmine and Ridley Scott proves how good director he is by building up so much tension all the time. You can´t miss a second because every shot works 100 %.
